H.Blin Blanc de Noir, Champagne Brut

Aromas of subtle red fruits, wild flowers with flavours of pears and buttery brioche.H.Blin are based in the village of Vincelles in the Marne Valley, here is where the lesser known Champagne grape Pinot Meunier dominates the landscape, they have 92ha of Pinot Meunier vines across the valley all of which they own and cultivate themselves as part of a large collective of invested growers. They've created a wonderful expression of Pinot Meunier, a grape that usually brings roundness and frutiness to a Champagne blend. In this Blanc de Noirs, H.Blin wanted to showcase the character, rustic charm and beauty of this grape. The winemaking here is clever too, with 80% of the Pinot Meunier from the fantastic 2014 vintage and 20% from older, reserve wines to give added layers of complexity and structure, it's then aged on its lees in the bottle for 3 years to give those toasty, brioche flavours.
